Albanese says no to cut seven-day Covid isolation period

Anthony Albanese has rejected New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottets calls to consider cutting seven-day quarantine requirements for positive cases of Covid. At the same time, leaders in states and territories continued to voice divergent views about pandemic responses.

On Monday, Andrew Barr, chief minister of the Australian Capital Territory, joined Perrottet in saying that the Commonwealths payments to cover Covid leaves must be extended further past the Septembers cut-off date, saying that the support must continue until positive cases are required by law to quarantine.
